Live and Online!
Live and Online! offers the key to designing effective interactions for the synchronous classroom. This ensures that participants have ample opportunity to collaborate and interact, which in turn helps them to successfully learn online. Author Jennifer Hofmann explains the use of powerful synchronous tools—Whiteboard, Chat, Breakout Room, Application Sharing, and Synchronized Web Browsing—provides sample exercises for each tool, and offers advice on how each tool fits into the instructional landscape. At the end of each exercise there is space provided for notes and suggestions on how to customize the interaction for specific projects. The companion CD-ROM contains sample graphics, leader guide pages that support the exercises, and templates for creating leader and participant materials and interactive plans

Guidelines for teachers
Hi teachers,
Just to remind you, the following are "Guidelines for teachers", which are given to you at the very beginning of the year. If you happen to have any question just let me know by email.
GUIDELINES FOR TEACHERS
* You are given a folder at the beginning of each term for you to complete your student´s attendance as well as yours. Please, do not forget to fill them in. There can be misunderstandings with your pay at the end of the month.
* The monthly plans are to be handed in at the end of the previous month. In this way we can check, sign them and make any comments if necessary. We really need you to take the commitment to hand them in, PLEASE.
* You will also have a copybook where you should write everything you do each class. So, if you happen to need a replacement, we know exactly what to do and where to continue. We use that copybook as our communications copybook too. You can leave the answers and my comments there too.
* Always be on time to your classes. It´s a lack of respect towards your students to show up late to the class and after several times it could lead to dismissal. We should be examples to our students and the institute is responsible for your actions.
* Never use your cell phone in class. Students need to be with a full-time teacher as they come for a very short period of time. So, unless you have an urgent call, please, DO NOT answer or make any call.
* Please, keep your corrections up-to-date. There can´t be more than a week of delay. If not, your students might feel they are not paid enough attention and as a result they won´t complete their homework on time either.
* It is vital to plan your lesson beforehand. Read your monthly plan so that you can have in mind which pages you have to cover. Check vocabulary and phrases unknown to you before going to class.
* We have our mid-term and final exams for annual students in July and December. Take that into account and prepare the note with the topics they are supposed to study one month before. for the other tests, one week in advance is enough.
* Final exams are provided to you by the institute.
Finally, do not hesitate to contact us whenever you have any doubt or question. We are here to help you in any way we can.
Thank you!

Words, words, words
Do you spend hours creating word lists and weekly vocabulary tests only to find that your students have "forgotten" the words by the following week? Janet Allen and her students were frustrated with the same problem. Words, Words, Words describes the research that changed the way she and many other teachers teach vocabulary. It offers educators practical, research-based solutions for helping students fall into new language, learn new words, and begin to use those words in their speaking and writing lives.
This book offers teachers detailed strategy lessons in the following areas:activating and building background word knowledge;making word learning meaningful and lasting;building concept knowledge;using word and structural analysis to create meaning;using context as a text support;making reading the heart of vocabulary instruction.
Words, Words, Words provides educators with a strong research base, detailed classroom-based lessons, and graphic organizers to support the strategy lessons. At a time when teachers are struggling to meet content standards in reading across the curriculum, this book offers some practical solutions for meeting those standards in ways that are meaningful and lasting.

Teaching English to Speakers ofother Languages - An Introduction
David Nunan’s dynamic learner-centered teaching style has informed and inspired countless TESOL educators around the world. In this fresh, straightforward introduction to teaching English to speakers of other languages he presents teaching techniques and procedures along with the underlying theory and principles.
Complex theories and research studies are explained in a clear and comprehensible, yet non-trivial, manner without trivializing them. Practical examples of how to develop teaching materials and tasks from sound principles provide rich illustrations of theoretical constructs. The content is presented through a lively variety of different textual genres including classroom vignettes showing language teaching in action, question and answer sessions, and opportunities to ‘eavesdrop’ on small group discussions among teachers and teachers in preparation. Readers get involved through engaging, interactive pedagogical features and opportunities for reflection and personal application. Each chapter follows the same format so that readers know what to expect as they work through the text. Key terms are defined in a Glossary at the end of the book. David Nunan’s own reflections and commentaries throughout enrich the direct, up-close style of the text.
Have Fun With...
This photocopiable book is divided into 16 units, providing a varied collection of challenging vocabulary quizzes and games. Each unit covers useful everyday topics, and teacher notes are provided at the start of each unit. Answers to the activities appear at the end of the unit for the student.
